Any helicopter tours from Grand Canyon West Rim?
There are so many tour companies leaving from Las Vegas to GC, but I am having no luck finding a company that will fly you down into the west rim canyon once you are there. I don’t mind driving to the West rim and then take the helicopter tour from there, but i can’t find anything like that. Is that even possible? I just want to save some money and avoid having to be picked up at the hotel and driven or flown there, since I can do that myself.

Sounds Great. Take a helicopter to the Grand Canyon but it isn’t the part of the Grand Canyon that you have heard about. It is to an Indian Reservation at the extreme West of the canyon. If you want to see the real thing go to the South Rim of the park. BTW they dont let helicopters fly over the National Park.
A Grand Canyon video, map and more info is at VegasNature.com The Grand Canyon is worth whatever it takes to see it. There are many other places that are also exciting so dont stop with GC when you look at VegasNature.com

Easiest way to get from LAX to Grauman's Chinese Theatre?
My sister and I are coming over to the USA from Australia for a holiday.

We will be in LA on Monday 28 December for the day. We are flying into LAX, arriving around 7am on SouthWest Airlines. We fly out at about 8pm that same night to go to Vegas.

Since we only have the day there, we want to do a Hollywood / LA tour and try to see as much as possible. We have found one we are keen to do that departs from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd) at 9am.

I have looked at www.metro.net but the Trip planner keeps telling me that there are no options available for the trip we want to do.

Investigating a bit further, it looks like we can take a Shuttle from LAX to Aviation/LAX station, take the Green Line train to Imperial/Wilmington station, then change to the Blue Line train and travel to 7th St/Metro and then change to the Red Line train and travel to Hollywood/Highland.

Not knowing what the train system is like, is it easy to change Lines from Green to Blue and then Blue to Red?

Are the stops in the same station (i.e. just have to change platforms) or do we actually have to leave the station and go to another station?

Also, what is the best way to buy a ticket? Can we just buy tickets with cash on the Shuttle bus for the whole trip (including return to LAX at the end of the day) or do we have to buy separate tickets when we get to Aviation/LAX station for the train trip?

Finally, is there an easier way to get to Grauman’s (bearing in mind we HAVE to arrive before 9am or we will miss the tour)?
Sorry, perhaps I should have explained better. We are coming from Australia but we will already be in the US before our day trip to LA.

We will be in Vegas and thought, since the airfare was so cheap, that we could do a day trip to LA and check it out as well.

We are looking at taking an early flight from Vegas to LA. We won’t have bags so we should be able to clear the airport quite quickly after our flight lands.

Re the "Flyaway" how long does it take to get to Union Station? I was worried that if we took a cab or a bus we would get stuck in traffic and risk not getting to the Theatre on time to meet the tour.

I will check out the other tour company that picks up from LAX. Thanks for that suggestion. I would certainly be alot easier.

Simple. Take the "Flyaway" Bus from LAX to Union Station . Fare is about $7.00 and they run every 1/2 hour. Catch it under the blue signs at the baggage claim area.

From Union Station take the "Red Line" subway to Hollywood/Highland . Fare is $1.25. You’re there

Peedlepup’s answer is great, but you probably will want to drop your luggage off somewhere. If you’re only in LA for the day, remember to ask the airline to put the luggage on your next flight. You can buy a round-trip ticket back to LAX from Union Station – the fare is higher, of course, but just keep your original ticket and you can get back on without a problem.

Paris Hilton is right, although condescending. You should see if you can arrange for a cab to take you to Grauman’s.

if you are coming from Australia you cant fly on southwest cause they dont fly there!
i have a better idea instead of you traveling all that
way did you know there are some tour companies
that will pick you AT lax?

This is unrealistic….You have to go through customs and even if you take a direct taxi during rush hour and you still won’t get there by 9:00am most likely…..You need a much later tour or somehow meet up with the tour in progress……

From LAX, take the UNION STATION Flyaway shuttle. It will drop you off at Union Station in downtown. From there, you can take the red line subway to Hollywood/Highland (look at the metro rail map).

The Flyaway will be faster than the green/blue/red line trip that you mentioned. However, if you choose to do that, you can buy a $5 day pass that is good for unlimited train rides, which will be cheaper than the Flyaway ($7 each way).

christians, why did god choose eve to eat the fruit from the tree and not adam?
even though he knew should would do it that meant he put the tree there intending for her to disobey him.

but why eve and not adam, does it seem that whoever wrote the story was a chauvinist or misogynist?

doesn’t it make woman look inferior to men, if the snake had spoken to adam would he still have eaten the fruit?

i think it’s because they wanted to portray women as weaker and inferior to men in the eyes of god.

Sexism and written by misogynistic males (therefore, almost certainly sexually and physically inadequate males). A vain (as far as Atheistic women) attempt at control. Misogynists are always inadequate people, I cannot help feeling a certain delight when I meet a misogynist, we both know (the misogynist and I) that I could eat them alive because I see through their persona and recognise their incredible weakness and overall underachievement. The bible is outrageously anti women’s right to be equal, how can any thinking, self respecting women condone it’s message of subservience for women?

It’s ladies first in life boats and dangerous subway corridors (at least in horror movies and Philadelphia) – so why not the bible nonsense too.

God didn’t CHOOSE her. She did it HERSELF. Satan deceived her. Adam and Eve were told NOT to eat from the tree.

he didn’t he gave the choice to them and eve parktook of the fruit. thats what made her eve.

Really? I thought she was tempted by snakes. Maybe you didn’t read it properly.

To be an atheist requires an infinitely greater measure of faith than to receive all the great truths which atheism would deny.

It is written just how it happened. You are telling us how very ignorant you are of God’s word. Adam was standing there all along. He was not off in the garden somewhere pulling up weeds. He did what a lot of men do today. He let his wife handle the spiritual problem. She took a bite and handed it to Adam who was there all along. Then he started the blame game. " The woman YOU gave me caused me to eat." He blamed God for HIS action. And I see that same game played all through this site. But God has declared that all of us will reap what WE sow. No more, no less.
waygoddoesthings | Nov 13, 2009

in the story, god said nothing to eve about not doing it ( i think)

anyway, thats just how women were viewed when the book was thought up, women were property and inferior, that just serves to illustrate why, its sexist and despicable
Big Steve | Nov 13, 2009

God did not choose eve to eat the fruit. eve willingly of her own free-will ate the fruit after being tempted and tricked by satan/the snake. that is a fact.
hwngirl | Nov 13, 2009

I think you don’t understand what "predestination" really means.

God did not choose Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit. Eve chose that of her own doing. She had every chance to NOT chose to do evil.
Same with Adam.
Ahh – same with you!

HE did not make her eat it, HE did not want her to eat it. She chose to eat it.
