 Hoax, The (2006)
IMDB rating: 7.20
Plot: Early in 1971, McGraw-Hill passes on Clifford Irving’s new novel. He’s desperate for money, so, against the backdrop of Nixon’s reelection calculations, Irving claims he has Howard Hughes’s cooperation to write Hughes’s autobiography. With the help of friend Dick Suskind, Irving does research, lucks into a manuscript written by a long-time Hughes associate, and plays on corporate greed. He’s quick-thinking and outrageously bold. Plus, he banks on Hughes’s reluctance to enter the public eye. At the same time, he’s trying to rebuild his marriage and deflect the allure of his one-time mistress, Nina Van Pallandt. Can he write a good book, take the money, and pull off the hoax?

Anyone else think the loch ness monster is a joke?
I saw a documentary on it a couple of years ago, and while it was completely unbiased, it left no doubt in my mind that the loch ness monster isn’t real.
The documentary showed how easily sticks and rocks in the water can be mistaken for humps or a head. It showed a number of hoaxes that were believed by many, but later found out to be fraud.
It also said that if the loch ness was a plesiosaur, as described, then it would need air, and would surface every few hours, meaning there would be far more sightings.
Not to mention all the searches that have been done and found nothing.
Isn’t it a bit convenient all these idiot locals see the monster when no one is around, yet when they actually look for it there’s no trace? T
here’s so much evidence against it, I can’t help but feel the only people who believe in it are idiots.
Im an idiot and i believe in it

Lol, I never believed it was real. It’s a legend and although I haven’t looked in depth at it the way you saw that documentary – I’d assume that its not probable for a being like that to exist in these times anyway.

Nessie is real! A leprechaun told me.

I actually like the view of the guy who first said he saw it. He said something like this:
‘I know what I saw, but whatever it was it is probably dead and gone by now.’
Very logical.

Trust me, it isn’t real, neither is big foot or the abominal snowman. PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THIS SO CALLED ‘LOCHNESS MONSTER’ NEED TO GROW UP ALREADY!!! AND IF YOU’RE AN ADULT AND YOU BELIEVE IT’S REAL THEN GET A FREAKING LIFE!!! No offence, it’s just stupid.

it is one of several such questions floating around in the world rationalists refuse to believe in them but some others believe.

Just because it is unseen does not mean that it is not real!
